The Studio
Maleny is a small interior design studio creating residential, commercial and hospitality spaces with a focus on how they feel to live and work in. Our approach is practical, collaborative and grounded in the belief that good design should make everyday life easier, more enjoyable and more connected to its surroundings. We work closely with our clients from the earliest ideas through to the final details, taking the time to understand what each project needs before deciding how it should look. From spatial planning and material selections to furniture, lighting and styling, every element is considered as part of the whole.

We work with you from the early planning stages to establish the interior direction of your home, selecting everything from flooring and stone to cabinetry, lighting and hardware. Where required, we collaborate directly with architects, builders and trades throughout the project, providing the documentation and design guidance needed to carry the concept through construction.

Every project begins with an initial consultation where we discuss your space, requirements, budget and overall direction. From there, we develop a tailored scope of work and guide you through each stage of the design process, from concept through to final selections and installation.
How much should I budget for my project?
Budgets vary depending on the size, scope and level of detail involved. We’ll discuss your investment early in the process and recommend an approach that is realistic for both your space and your priorities.
How long does an interior design project take?
Timelines depend on the scope of the project. Smaller styling projects may take several weeks, while renovations and full-home projects can take a number of months. A more detailed timeline will be provided once the scope has been confirmed.
Can you work with furniture or pieces I already own?
Absolutely. We’re happy to incorporate existing furniture, artwork and sentimental pieces where they work within the overall design. Not everything needs to be new for a space to feel considered and cohesive.
Do you work with builders and other trades?
Yes. Depending on the project, we can collaborate with your existing builder or trades, or work alongside trusted professionals throughout the design process. Our level of involvement will be outlined clearly before the project begins.
